AMARATERRA
It’s fast, it’s frantic, it’s frenetic. Amaraterra play the red-hot pizzica music of the Salento region of Italy, a dazzling song-and-dance combination shot through with high-pulse passion.
Formed in London, UK in 2011 by a group of passionate expats from the Salento, Amaraterra has grown into a multi-national ensemble, presenting its audience with a joyful and energetic selection of pizzica and roots music from all over the south of Italy, and adapting its style of music to the vibrant and cosmopolitan world music scene without weakening the links to its traditional musical canon.
A ‘Pizzica’ is the malicious bite of the tarantula spider. In order to heal from the poison you must dance till you drop, following the intense, restless beat of the tambourine. It is one of the oldest musical expressions of the Mediterranean, brought to London by a group of passionate musicians and dancers. Expect a flourish of instruments, colour and movement.

Brixton Heights is a musical and art collective formed in London in June 2010. For over ten years Brixton Heights has hosted and promoted roots rock reggae nights in South London venues. In 2018 Brixton Heights Records was incorporated into an Ltd and has produced five 7″ vinyls to date. Brixton Heights continue producing talk radio show “Brixton Talks” and play regularly in south london and internationally alongside the work studio and many collaborations over the years .Yucca embarks his dj journey in 2004 and his one of the 3 founders of the Brixton Heights collective and records label.On his set with Amaraterra will bring you through a journey around world music and into reggae vibes .
