Casa del Ritmo ft Candela & Tambo at The Magic Garden

.We welcome Candela & Tambo (Fire & Drums) is a professional group based in Palomino, Guajira, part of the Caribbean coast of Colombia, and becoming one of the new emerging bands spreading traditional folklore in and out of their own country. The band researches and performs traditional Colombian folklore with powerful lyrics and afro-colombian drums, hand percussion, and fusing strings and melodies to connect people musically around the world .

The repertoire includes a variety of Afro-Colombian musical rhythms, such as Cumbia, Bullerengue rhythms, Afro-Indigenous Drums (Alegre, Tambora, Llamador), Maracas/Guasá/Shakers, traditional dances, and attires, with a strong emphasis on rhythm and improvisation through learning verses to follow the ‘cantaora’ singer with palms and vocals, engaging the public in call and response chants.

Join us and immerse yourself in a journey of energetic dance, Afro-colombian rhythms, chants and melodies with Candela & Tambo. @candelaytamboHosted by CarlitosNino DJ bringing the original sounds of alternative latin music and modern rhythms, this night bringing the the past and present of Colombian folklore and nu-Cumbia alongside Latin American music with a global twist.
