Undercover Hippy + Mama Jerk & The Ladyfingers + El Diablo + Special Guests!

December 3, 2016 @ 8:00 pm - December 4, 2016 @ 2:00 am

£7 – £8

Billy Rowan, aka The Undercover Hippy, is definitely not your average singer songwriter. His music brings together acoustic guitar, soulful vocals, infectious reggae rhythms, and the lyrical delivery of a skilled MC. After 7 years spent DJing and MCing on the Drum & Bass circuit, Billy swapped the decks for a guitar and started out as a solo act in 2007.

Although he still occasionally does solo gigs, he now usually plays with a full band, mixing guitars, keys, drums, bass, percussion and backing vocals to create a high energy, interactive and highly entertaining live show. Combining intelligent, provocative lyrics with dangerously catchy hooks and a feel good groove, this is music for the thinking man to shake his arse to. Think Jason Mraz meets The Cat Empire…on a protest march…at the Edinburgh Fringe!

Mama Jerk and the Lady Fingers deliver French infused stomping earworms to the festive masses on an almost daily basis. With fat dub bass lines, gypsy undertones, deep rumbling vocals, psychedelic guitar landscaping, a fairly attractive horn section and a fearless approach to genre hopping, Mama Jerk has made a name for itself as being one of the most original bands to step onto Bristol’s party scene.

El Diablo is a founder of The Magic Garden, and a great DJ! With a solid background in the underground scene of London and the South East, he has also played at Secret Garden, Nettle, Small World and abroad in France and Turkey. A truly eclectic selector, he ranges across genres and always keeps the dance floor vibe energetic and lively. Devilishly good.
