Grabbed by their scruffs, thrown in a rough hessian sack and tossed in the lake shortly after birth by some farmer or other, Town of Cats shoulda been goners before they even got started. But attempted euthanasia’ll do funny things for friendships – that, and lack of oxygen. Rescued from the water’s numbing embrace by Mama Biscuits and her pack of feral moggies, Joe, Adam, Barney and Ben were shoved unceremoniously behind instruments, mewling and dripping. Ol’ Ma took up her trusty sax, and told the four to play up or pack it in.
Providing Gyp-Hop Ska with lashings of Latino and a side of Funk, these crazy cats know all too well how to get a howling party going!
Galactic Funk Militia is an audacious 12-piece Funk, Hip Hop and Dance band from Liverpool, mixing up the flavours of artists like Jimi Hendrix, P Funk, De La Soul, OutKast, Jill Scott, Digital Underground, Basement Jaxx and Kendrick Lamar.
GFM has massive stage presence and the sound to match. Thumping dance floor smashers explode with horns and electric guitar, while liquid ballads seduce your ears with sensuous synth and exquisite melody. All driven by impulsive groove, quick-fire rap gymnastics and completed by the incredible voice of Amber Kuti.
DJ Special Terry is an old skool, top drool, vinylistic groove selecta who eschews tech media, social media, memes and other 21st century follies and sticks to the beauty and beastliness of real choons, one after another, designed for dance floor ecstasy, jiggy jiggy mayhem, bouncing ballistic ballerinas and mash-up rave parties!!!
