Bohemianauts Cabaret

February 26, 2015 @ 8:00 pm - 11:55 pm

£5

With a pedigree unrivalled on the London scene, Tom Baker brings together exceptional performers to transform venues large and small, spectactular and intimate into new bohemias. Tom is part of The Black Cat Cabaret, which won the prestigious “Best Production” prize at the London Cabaret Awards 2014.

He is also the frontman and accordion playing songwriter of well known band, The Bohemianauts, Slinking into drinking dens and other sites of delightful inebriationsim across London as diverse as they are decadent, Tom Baker and The Bohemianauts deliver the delights of contemporary and satirical cabaret at its best .

Bohemianauts Cabaret will feature the following astonishing acts:

SNAKE FERVOUR (Cafe de Paris, Double R Club, It’s YOUR Funeral) – sideshow/fire/sword swallowing performer (not fire at MGP)

EVA VON SCHNIPPISCH (compere/head honcho of The Zeppelin Club)

Ukelele-toting Wiemar Cabaret chanteuse

THE FABULOUS BAKEWELL BOYS (Lucha Britannia/It’s YOUR Funeral)

Northern English Mexican Wrestlers turned working men’s club entertainers

APPLE TART (The Late Night Shop)

Burlesquer, holographic artist and all-round wrong-un

OLEG THE MYSTIC (an act shrouded in mystery)

Plus, of course, the Bohemianauts ….

THE BOHEMIANAUTS:

Out of the delightfully twisted remains of the artists formerly known as Fantasmagoria staggered a crazed singer-accordionist with a clutch of songs used and new, and often misappropriated…

A bohemianaut is one who travels through uncharted spaces towards some notion of “bohemia”, and The Bohemianauts are a mutable combo of such travellers, playing and singing as they go, featuring:

Tom Baker on accordion,

Raf Lijtman on guitar,

Doyne-Ditmas on double bass,

Jules Hood on sax,

Jake Stevens on Guitar and Trombone

plus a variety of other musicians as appropriate.
