A veritable tornado of funk, the band boasts a super-tight rhythm section, a wall of brass and a burgeoning song book of original music. Fusing their many influences, encompassing crate-digging rarities to contemporary dance floor fillers, Soul Grenades deliver no-nonsense, hard-hitting funk and soul music.
Soul Grenades are putting the final touches to their sophomore album, slated for a winter release. Their debut album Pullin’ the Pin received extensive airplay and critical acclaim worldwide.
The band’s recent 45 on Mukatsuku Records has received rave reviews and airplay on BBC Radio 6 Music on The Craig Charles Funk and Soul Show.
The band have performed at some of the UK’s most prestigious venues including The Jazz Cafe, The 100 Club, The Blues Kitchen, Pizza Express Jazz Club, Matt & Phred’s, South London Soul Train and many more. Soul Grenades have performed at major festivals including Green Man, Kendal Calling, Manchester Jazz Festival, Elderflower Fields and The Great Estate.
