The Penny Black Remedy / Dana Immanuel & The Stolen Band / DJ Sacha Dieu

March 24, 2018 @ 9:00 pm - March 25, 2018 @ 2:00 am

£7

“Since being formed in 2006 by singer/songwriter Keith M Thomson, The Penny Black Remedy have been proudly defiant in the face of categorisation – focusing instead on utilising their shared love and passion for all forms of music from around the globe to create a wholly distinctive and unmistakable sound all of their own. The resulting symbiance of darkly comic, unpretentiously intelligent and catchy songs, and their exhilarating live shows, have been wowing audiences and promoters alike across both the UK and Europe, building a loyal following of dedicated fans as a result!”

Dana Immanuel is a banjo-toting, whiskey-drinking, poker-playing singer-songwriter currently operating from a north London hideout from which emerges a sound more usually associated with the bayou, triple filtered through bourbon, washboard, and a touch of alt-country eccentricity. With the five-piece, all-girl Stolen Band, Dana has been getting feet stomping across the UK folk, blues, Americana and rock scenes.

Dana’s music reflects her eclectic influences, from Alice Cooper to Hank Williams, routed via the bluegrass turnpike around the township of alt-country. She is at home in the high-stakes casinos of Monte Carlo as in the basement bars of London, Paris and Amsterdam, and her live show with the Stolen Band is not to be missed.

Based in London, Sacha Dieu has been DJing professionally since the late 90s. Sacha plays many genres and styles (From 1920s Jazz to Rhythm and Blues to the latest remixes, obscurities from around the world to well known classics). Sacha adapts his sets for each new occasion. However, he is reputed for being one of the pioneers and specialists of Balkan Gypsy Music and Global Beats DJing in the UK!
