The Meow Meows + Natalie Wouldn’t + Mini Da Minx
June 10, 2016 @ 9:00 pm - June 11, 2016 @ 2:00 am
£5 – £8
“Brighton’s 20-legged groove machine” (Kerrang! magazine)
The Meow Meows are Brighton-based girls and boys with a shared love of ska and drinking until incapacity. In their latest EP they take on the Tories, the tabloids and their own whiskey-drenched demons in this fast paced, punk soul extravaganza. Pushed to their best yet by the amazing talent of producer Prince Fatty, this is music to dance AND riot to. The sound is an amalgamation of 60s garage rock ‘n’ roll, 80’s 2Tone ska and anything else they may feel like chucking in.
The band formed back in summer 2005 mainly as an excuse to drink on a weeknight, but since then have played with major international acts including The Temptations, Reel Big Fish, The Beat, The Selecter, King Blues, The Skints, Bad Manners, The Slackers, and The Aggrolites, to name but a few. They have toured throughout the UK and Europe, including the London Brawling tour with The King Blues, Mouthwash and Moral Dilemma.
Natalie Wouldn’t are all about having fun and making sure our fans are having even more fun. Whether playing in Seattle, Europe or any where else in the world it is all about SKA and their fans!
“I love your stuff, especially FBI, which makes me dance laughing everytime. You guys are exactly what we were hoping for when we conjured this thing. Ten times better than anything on the radio.”
— Noisehead
