Heavenly Sunday Folk with Jausmė + Sian Magill

October 16, 2016 @ 9:00 pm - 11:30 pm

Free entry!

Come and join us for a soothing Sunday at the Magic Garden – this week it’s heavenly folk from Jausme, who brings her intriguing stringed instrument called a “kanklės” to our stage, with support from the incredible Sian Magill. Come and enjoy a Sunday roast, Bloody Marys and a spellbinding performance.

Jausmė (pron. Yo-s-meh), or Jausme, Vocalist/songwriter/instrumentalist, hailing from the Baltic lands of Lithuania, creates unique sounds of soul, jazz and folklore with her ‘Kanklės’ and its 29 strings. Her style is best described as ‘urban etherealism’. Main inspiration: nature. Main aim: to soothe and inspire. Main theme: trees. Main drive: variety. Jausmė has collaborated with bass producers and sung on some deep subs, dubtechno, garage and more.

Sian Magill is one of the few lone singer-songwriters who manages to beautifully fuse a powerful voice, thoughtful lyricism and intricate acoustic finger-picking guitar. Her varying musical taste comes together to create a varied and beguiling performance, producing songs inspired by her folk roots, love of blues and jazz vocalists, and passion for literature and the written word. An up and coming talent not to miss.
