Flamenco alla Cubana ft Leo Power and Jesus Cutino + DJ Carlitos Niño
July 29 @ 8:00 pm - July 30 @ 2:00 am£3 – £5
A collaboration night between some of the top Cuban and Spanish musicians
A heady mix of Cuban, Latin, Flamenco, Ska & Reggae – the explosive concoction that results when this group of international, and inter-musical, elements are combined.
London based, Cuban singer, songwriter and performer, Jesus Cutiño is a master of many guitar styes including Cuban, Latin jazz, Flamenco, Ska, Reggae, and more.
Leo Power, a Flamenco singer hailing from Cádiz in southern Spain, is well known for his unique ability to mix traditional Flamenco music with other globe spanning genres to create new sounds that are as daring as they are exciting.
The pair met while improvising at a festival jam session in the UK and immediately connected over their mutual love of Latin music.
Accompanying Jesus and Leo will be flamenco guitarist, percussionist, and bassist Pablo Dominguez. The long-time musical collaborator to Leo Power, also from Cádiz, will be joined by percussionist Ayoze and pianist Gustavo to round out this explosive quintet.
The show will feature a selection of carefully curated songs, specifically selected to highlight the best of traditional Cuban and Flamenco music. This repertoire will be accompanied by original works penned by Jesus Cutiño for Leo Power and produced by featured pianist Gustavo.
This unusual blend of sounds, styles and personalities has created a one-of-a-kind musical experience that will see the return of Leo Power and Pablo Dominguez to London to join their long-time friends and collaborators on stage to share this multi-genre performance live in front of an audience.
