Feral Mouth + Railway Sleepers + DJ Special Terry

October 29, 2016 @ 9:00 pm - October 30, 2016 @ 2:00 am

£7 – £8

The captivating sound of Americana music has drifted far and wide from its Appalachian roots. And across the Atlantic, rural Norfolk-based country band Feral Mouth find common ground with many of its qualities; heart felt honesty, passion and communicability to the common man are foundations for their music. In a world where Pixies once presented a dark cynical alternative to the trends of the time, Feral Mouth take their place reclaiming that voice just when the rest of Folk music seems bound for the mainstream.

Intertwining guitar, cello, banjo, mandolin, upright bass and skiffle drums alongside soulful harmonies, they create an authentic homage to roots country music, whilst stirring lyrics pose socio-political questions and heartfelt emotional narratives.

Tom Waits pops into a caravan site, comes out with The Railway Sleepers! The Railway Sleepers are a fast paced outfit of ragtags and second generation academics. Sounds similar to how you might expect punk, pickled swing, klezmer, gypsy, Balkan and spew blues to sound.

The band all currently exist in a range of fashions in Bristol and play regularly in about the town and parish. They have also played further afield and in many a field but none in Latvia… yet!

DJ Special Terry is an old skool, top drool, vinylistic groove selecta who eschews tech media, social media, memes and other 21st century follies and sticks to the beauty and beastliness of real choons, one after another, designed for dance floor ecstasy, jiggy jiggy mayhem, bouncing ballistic ballerinas and mash-up rave parties!!!
