The Bohemianauts + Fred Snow Presents + DJ Jon Bongly

December 1, 2017 @ 9:00 pm - December 2, 2017 @ 2:00 am

| Free before 8pm, £5 after

A bohemianaut is one who travels through uncharted spaces towards some notion of “bohemia”, and The Bohemianauts are a mutable combo of such travellers, playing and singing as they go.

These guys are delightfully twisted band of gypsy music-makers whose sounds would fit in perfectly at an old ramshackle circus. The Bohemianauts have a unique stage presence reminiscent of Gypsy vaudeville, with elements of ‘bastard cabaret and songs of unrequited dread’ thrown in for good measure.

With Tom Baker on accordion, Raf Lijtman on guitar, Laurence Eliott-Potter on piano, Nick Doyne-Ditmas on double bass, and a variety of other musicians coming and going depending on the performance, expect a fantastical and all-round eccentric take on old gypsy songwriting.

Fred Snow: ‘Hip for Purpose’. Frontman of the bands, ‘Prinz Friedrich’, ‘The Top Shelf Band’, ‘Le Bistrotet’ & ‘The Bootleg Trio’. He has carved a name for himself on the London scene & the private circuits of Europe with his music & solo performances. But Fred is also known to do stand-up Comedy in addition to hiscompère & cabaret characters, ‘Arthur Foxaque’, ‘Prinz Friedrich‘ (the character extention of the band), ‘Chairman Now!’ & ‘Harris N. Fraud’, besides singing in Polish, French & Russian!

You will be treated to a solo folk performance from this debonair cad, as well as a cabaret performance as ‘Chairman Now!’. He’ll also be compering the Bohemianauts as they perform.

A Magic Garden regular and with good reason, DJ Jon Bongly specialises in feelgood beats and retro remix – phenomenal sounds from electro swing, pulsing techno & wriggling tropical rhythms.
