Howlin’ Ric is a musician, songwriter and bandleader from Leeds in the north of England. Within the roots scene there is a varied and rich range of subcultures where people are really into Rockabilly, Country or Blues and so on. Being a lover of all these American traditions and styles of music Howlin’ Ric & the Rocketeers work to satisfy those American traditions with their timeless blend of high octane Rock & Roll and Rhythm & Blues.
Howlin’ Ric is also part of an independent Leeds label, Gin House Records. Gin House Records celebrate roots music and musicians from around Leeds with Rock & Roll, Surf, Folk and Ska bands on their list of artists. When recording their new release “Cannonball” for Gin House Records Howlin’ Ric & the Rocketeers wanted to capture the feel and energy of old Rock & Roll records and so recorded live onto a 4 track quarter-inch tape machine.
