King Cassady play a toe-tapping blend of jaunty gypsy jazz with a foot-stomping mix of fiery flamenco – the perfect music to get a crowd dancing like maenads or drinking like Dionysus. This London based quartet are well seasoned performers with years of experience playing the London gig scene and UK festival circuit. The elegant yet energetic guitar work is driven by jangly Django-esque chords while up-tempo percussive rhythms are blended perfectly with chest-thumping bass lines, bringing a rambunctious riot of musical raucousness to any crowd. With so many influences in world music – ranging from Greek, Latin, Arab, jazz Manouche and flamenco – and with crowds ranging from the suited and booted sophisticats to the face-painted, mud-splattered festival warriors, King Cassady’s influences draw from a broad spectrum of musical tastes.
